Hokay.... 55% of almost everything has already been moved to my server. Comments are gone of course but shall be remembered.. in a way. I think @__@; LOL.

I doubt I'd be updating this so this may as well be my last post on anything else other than LJ.

~(^^~) ~(^^ )~ ~( ^^)~ (~^^)~
Since almost everyone has moved to LJ... and so have I in a way... is there a point keeping this blog up? Sure there are old posts that I'd like to keep, especially during the days of college and my final year project ^__^

I wonder if there's a way for me to save the posts and archive them elsewhere or something something '__';

So, the famous question constantly asked today is, "How did the demo go?"

A couple of days ago I'd mentioned to some that I met with some people from (Midvalley Mega Mall) MV regarding our software. That was just a brief meeting where they requested a demo of our software in their office. So after days of preparing two laptops, installing the necessary stuff and our software, blahblah, yesterday my boss & I headed for MV at 2.30pm. We were meeting 2 more of "our" people there and of course our client's people.

So, we got to the office and there were a few guys already in the presentation room. So while we waited for the rest of them to come, I started setting up the system, etc. There was 4 of us (including me) and 7 of them. 4 of which are I think from the IT department of Company A, in charge of MV, and 3 is the media company hired by Company A. With everything set up, we began the presentation... me being the presenter of course.

Overall, the presentation went well. Any problems or whatever that went through I knew how to tackle and surprisingly I wasn't as nervous as I thought I'd be. Aside from the fact that I had to desperately search for words which failed my memory a couple of times x__x *uhhuhhhwtfisthewordwtfwtfuhh* Of course during and after the presentation there are questions. Questions which are... questionable =__=

The fact that Malaysians will always be Malaysians and ask anal questions, I suppose it is expected! You show them this, they ask for that plus x, y & z. They have this mentality where they must find a way to shoot you down with "stupid-which-think-are-so-smart" questions just to feel good of themselves. Tough luck MISTERs, I know the software like the back of my hand -_-.

Take situation #1.
Mr Oh-my-England-so-good-I-can-talk-with-slang-liao, who's not even going to smell the software let alone use it says "Oh I don't want all this gimmicky stuff. Just something to put the adverts out there."

First, duh... if you're a user, this software WOULD make it easy and put the adverts out there...
Second, gimmicky means "A significant feature that is obscured, misrepresented, or not readily evident". If it was all some bullshit, would we be able to HAVE a demo right before your eyes and SHOW THAT EVERYTHING IS WORKING and not some preplanned lala?

What a dumbass. Well I guess thats what you would expect from a media person. OH! But wait a minute! I might have to eat my words here.

Take situation #2.
There is the IT guys... whom you'd think would be smarter than that, asks me about the speed Machine A takes to download from Machine B.

First, downloads depends on your connection and if it's just directly from pc to pc (which was the case in this demo) it'll be quite fast but nooooooooooooooooo...

Mr I'm-so-smart-I'm-the-CTO asks Mr n00blet-pretending-he-cannot-smile, who was sitting next to me, to time how fast the download takes. Stooooopid I tell you... couldn't ask anything more related to the software iszit?

Can you imagine, at one point the two of them were ACTUALLY passing notes to each other on a piece of paper. LIKE it couldn't wait??? SO unethical and unprofessional!!!

Is this going to be the case of every other company I present our software to? I didn't have such problems with the Swiss fellas. But then again, they understand the software a lot more I suppose. And are they just giving me a hard time since I was the only female in the room and most likely the youngest and being in this sorta field, females are looked down upon/underestimated? I'll have them know that this entire SOFTWARE was done by TWO GIRLS!

*wrings somebody's neck*

All in all, my boss and the other 2 people from my company said I did a good job presenting. So yay me. Now.. to ask for a pay raise >.>;

But before that.... the headlines on today's newspaper: No end to haze until October...
Uuuurrrrgggghhhhh.... ¬____¬

It's like as though we're in a different country, like the UK, except.... it's still HOT AND HUMID!!! I sense a disaster in the health department. I'm already coughing, but not like a dog as yet. Pity the school going kids. Especially those who don't have air-conditioning and are on the 3rd floor.

Today has got to be in it's worse condition. If we follow the pattern as like the last couple of days, the haze usually worsens in the afternoon/early evening. So what is this afternoon gonna look like??? 10 METRES VISIBILITY? SMELL OF SMOKE IN THE AIR-CONDITIONED OFFICES??? And of all weeks, unlike the others, it had to be under a dry spell.

Attention Rainmakers: Make some rain... please? =___=

I wanna break. Can working people also get "day offs" like the schools during bad weather too? :3

Edit:
Visibility -- 0%. All I see is white... like as though someone covered the windows with mah jong paper from the outside. Gahness x____x

[ Honey & Clover Manga ]

This might be the last time I promote Honey & Clover. I think... Nah.. maybe not :p

There's a manga as well.. almost the same as the anime. Released by ShoujoMagic and available at #ShoujoMagic @ irctoo. They've only released volume 1, 5 chapters. Looks like they've stopped, but no mention on whether they discontinued the project.

Don't forget to check it out =)

[ Another song recommendation ]

I'm assuming not very many people watch Honey and Clover but might have heard of Hachi Getsu no Serenade (because I have no idea who's the band singing at the moment). If you haven't watched the show or heard the song before.. in each episode of H&C there's an "insert song" that they feature and this one would be in the 2nd episode. It's a lovely song. The other songs ain't too bad either :p

There's a bt out at tokyo toshokon for the 3 insert songs (since there's only 3 episodes out at the moment).

Have you heard of King of Convenience?
Have you heard of a song called I Don't Know What I Can Save You From?

If your answer is both NO to the questions above, I suggest you listen to it. And for those of you lazy bums who don't feel like searching for the song... here it is~~ ^___^

Yes yes... the usual rules apply. Don't be spreading these links at forums and such but if you came across this blog while searching for the song, this is your lucky day!

Enjoy~~ You will not regret it! ^^

Beware of the Kitsune... for he IS A STALKER!!!!! OMGWTFGGNOBBQ 80% FOR THE QUIZ AGAIN!!!!! hahahahaahahahahhahahaha!! XDXD

In other "news"... this has got to be the funniest article I've read on TheStar! To quote some bits and pieces:

"...President George Bush, who forgets that the past was perfect and the present is tense."

"..let’s see which Mat Sallehs we can employ. Mary Poppins, the quintessential English nanny, comes to mind easily. But she’s axed because she wants every student to sing and use words like supercaloriesextradelicious or something like that."

"Besides, to speak like Sir Richard Burton, we would need gonads as big as bowling balls. Strewth!"

Okay.. I won't spoil the rest so GO READ IT!!! XDXD English as she is speak. ^__^

cracks a nut in the mean time >D

I really have nothing else better to do... @_____@

Take my Quiz! and then Check out the Scoreboard!

Let's see if Kitsune will be the highest ranked again XD (last time he scored 80%)

I haven't posted up jokes in ages... enjoy~ ;p

1. If you're addicted to work, you're a workaholic. When addicted to alcohol, you're an alcoholic. What if you're addicted to Horlicks?

2. There was this story that Yasmin hosted a quiz over her morning radio program, where she was looking for "salt & pepper" as the answer. A lady caller asked for a clue and Yasmin mentioned that "It's something that you put over your husband's eggs in he morning" to which the lady caller confidently answered "TALCUM POWDER!"

You Are 28 Years Old

28

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.
13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.
20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.
30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!
40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

last night at 12:15am i was online, busy reading fanfics when suddenly my computer table started swaying from left to right. thinking, "ah hell.. stupid fan must be touching the table again", i didn't bother about it, however i liked the feeling for some reason ^^;. a few minutes later i decided to check on the CF channel on irc, found some of our usual irc-ers talking about an earthquake/shakes.

for the fact that i could feel it, ie. a place far away from the sea, living on a hill and in a house (not high condo/apartment), actually means it was bad. everyone on irc was frantic about the earthquake. some, who had already left to go to bed last night, actually came back online to check if it really was an earthquake.

we were all unsure until finally, after searching & searching around the internet, there was some news!! an hour after the shocks, bbc and cnn started showing some updates.

sadly there are a lot of victims, though not as many (but still -__-) and thank gods there isn't another tsunami.

at work at about 9.35am.... there was a minor afteraftershock. i'm on the 12th floor in my office and my colleague and i felt our chairs shake a bit. (seriously, i'm not paranoid... or maybe we are paranoid.. ^^;)

then again at 2.20pm... there was a much bigger 'afteraftershock'. now i'm 100% sure i wasn't paranoid this morning. things in my office were actually swaying and my boss said, "Is this happening for real?"... O__o;;

how scary is that? ^^; *prepares to evacuate building if necessary* ^^;;;

I've taken down Thank You by Homemade Kazoku (Bleach 2nd Ending) because some people at the Narutard Naruto Forums passed it around. Doesn't anyone read what I say when I said 'please don't abuse kthxbai?' Guess not. Luckily I found out before it was too late.

Next time I host a song or if you (people who have my MSN that is) want it, come and ask me because you know I can't say no ^___^

Happy Chinese New Year~! ^____^

Haven't stepped out of the house yet.. hehe... that means no ang paus. HOWEVER... there's always DM's house.. mwehehehe.. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be getting some "monnies" there *nudgenudge* *winkwink* XD

Went to see Vanity Fair last night... uhm... and my thoughts about the movie.... I didn't really see a storyline or where it was heading towards, so I guessed it was about Rebecca Sharp (female character in the movie). Yeap, didn't read any reviews/synopsis, just went to the movies, bought them tickets and watched. Smart, I am ^^

In other /obvious/ news... I've changed the layout! Not what I was aiming for, so I had to compromise on the layout a bit :p

And that's all folks! Back to your daily lives now..

nyaliho~!

short update just to let y'all know, after much difficulty, i finally have bleach's 2nd ending - thank you! by homemade kazoku. yes.. it's over at the links section under 'hosted songs'. lovely, bouncy, happy song. i just love it. don't abuse my bandwidth though. thanks! :P

*is feeling generous* enjoy~! ^__^

also in music related news, there's a type of music file format called M4A. it's suppose to of be better quality than MP3s. so my point is, this file can only be played on players such as winamp5, apple's itunes, etc. but not winamp 2. so all you old school users (like meh) who have such files, you can download the plugin for your winamp 2 here (look for 'MP4 input plugin for winamp'), paste it in the 'plugins' folder in the winamp folder (where you installed it that is) and if your winamp is already open, you'll need to close and open it again in order to activate the plugin!

once again.... enjoy~! ^^

If this isn't the close to high standard animation, at this point in time, I can't imagine how much further it can go (until of course better programs are developed, new concepts are born, etc, etc.)

Check out Low Morale's animated version of Radiohead's Creep.

Love the song, love the animation... MAN! People have loads of time :p

[ Embarassing but oh so true! ]

So far the ONLY Proton car to ever be considered 'good' and 'worthy' as a car has to be the Proton Saga (my almost 14-year-old baby still trying it's best to keep up with the times) and the Proton Iswara. Waja, eventhough claimed to be 'Asia's answer to the BMW' (bloody hell, tarnishing the name of BMW, my fav car -_-), is the first in-house effort that upset the apple cart. And then of course the award for 'Ugliest car in the world' (a bit of an exageration here because I know there are uglier cars out there :p) goes to Proton Juara, with Gen-2 not far from it's tail.

Just 2 days ago my dad was saying, 'this is the last Malaysian-made car I buy!'. We bought a Waja about 1 1/2 years ago and until today I stand by my opinion (from the day my dad suggested we get the car), which is we shouldn't have. I even did the 'Waja' as my group's (during college that is) topic on bad designs (a subject called 'design user interface').

Based on the cars produced/manufactured by our country... here's my opinion on them.

1. Car to avoid for life: Wira Aeroback (one accident and it's screwed up forever - based on experience)
2. Fugliest cars: Juara (thank god they stopped manufacturing it), Kenari
3. Wannabe cars: Gen-2 (looks like an Alpha Romeo. I don't think its even a beautiful car with it's BIG STUCK UP 'BUTT' & don't even get me started on the Gen-2 colors), Waja (when I first saw it I thought Mercedes but it seems it's more of a BMW)
4. Poser car which you know it's just too low for our mountain road humps: Satria, Wira Aeroback
5. Other cars which are just blah and not worth it unless you have a low paying job, 10 kids to feed or just for temporary use: Arena, Kancil, Rusa
6. Cars which may be worth getting, if you really have to buy a Malaysian-made car: Kembara, Proton Saga (I doubt it's still in production though, and even if it was, it's not as good as the first batch that came out... now it's just like an aluminium tin-can), Iswara, Wira (sedan not aeroback), Perdana, Kelisa.

and finally;

7. Car I /would/ get as my first car because it's affordable and with my paycheck: Kelisa/Iswara.

Now, to see what disasters the new Satria R3 will bring. Sometimes I feel most of the accidents that occur here is because of 'home' made cars. Who knows...

(I know some people would disagree to what I've said because I'm not looking in terms of engine, CCs, quality based on price you get, etc. etc. etc. but just as a person who has a certain amount of experience owning/driving some of the cars above.)

lol, can't believe I blogged about cars! *rolls about laughing*

[ parents going tech-savvy ]

Several years ago when I was a student I was returning to Manchester after Christmas at home in Ireland. As I am walking through Manchester airport to collect my bags I hear an announcement on the intercom: "Could Thomas Smith please make his way to the nearest information desk". A message to call my dad. I immediately worry.
- Dad its me - is everything ok?
- No - I've lost everything and its gone blank?
- What?
- The computer, everything has gone blank. I can't find the internet or anything.
I can't repeat what I said but the staff in the airport information desk were surprised.
(Thomas, Ireland/England)

If you have parents who use computers, there is a 90% chance you could relate to this story

Some of the comments are really funny, and very familiar ^__^;;

the funniest thing today that should go down in the history of this "blog"
.......c & h.......
