[ Embarassing but oh so true! ]

So far the ONLY Proton car to ever be considered 'good' and 'worthy' as a car has to be the Proton Saga (my almost 14-year-old baby still trying it's best to keep up with the times) and the Proton Iswara. Waja, eventhough claimed to be 'Asia's answer to the BMW' (bloody hell, tarnishing the name of BMW, my fav car -_-), is the first in-house effort that upset the apple cart. And then of course the award for 'Ugliest car in the world' (a bit of an exageration here because I know there are uglier cars out there :p) goes to Proton Juara, with Gen-2 not far from it's tail.

Just 2 days ago my dad was saying, 'this is the last Malaysian-made car I buy!'. We bought a Waja about 1 1/2 years ago and until today I stand by my opinion (from the day my dad suggested we get the car), which is we shouldn't have. I even did the 'Waja' as my group's (during college that is) topic on bad designs (a subject called 'design user interface').

Based on the cars produced/manufactured by our country... here's my opinion on them.

1. Car to avoid for life: Wira Aeroback (one accident and it's screwed up forever - based on experience)
2. Fugliest cars: Juara (thank god they stopped manufacturing it), Kenari
3. Wannabe cars: Gen-2 (looks like an Alpha Romeo. I don't think its even a beautiful car with it's BIG STUCK UP 'BUTT' & don't even get me started on the Gen-2 colors), Waja (when I first saw it I thought Mercedes but it seems it's more of a BMW)
4. Poser car which you know it's just too low for our mountain road humps: Satria, Wira Aeroback
5. Other cars which are just blah and not worth it unless you have a low paying job, 10 kids to feed or just for temporary use: Arena, Kancil, Rusa
6. Cars which may be worth getting, if you really have to buy a Malaysian-made car: Kembara, Proton Saga (I doubt it's still in production though, and even if it was, it's not as good as the first batch that came out... now it's just like an aluminium tin-can), Iswara, Wira (sedan not aeroback), Perdana, Kelisa.

and finally;

7. Car I /would/ get as my first car because it's affordable and with my paycheck: Kelisa/Iswara.

Now, to see what disasters the new Satria R3 will bring. Sometimes I feel most of the accidents that occur here is because of 'home' made cars. Who knows...

(I know some people would disagree to what I've said because I'm not looking in terms of engine, CCs, quality based on price you get, etc. etc. etc. but just as a person who has a certain amount of experience owning/driving some of the cars above.)

lol, can't believe I blogged about cars! *rolls about laughing*
